Akkurat Audio – Line Source Series

Named after the distance from Earth:

Akkurat Audio model naming follows a space travel logic. The closer to Earth, the smaller the speaker and the lower its maximum SPL required to reach reference level. Conversely, the further from Earth, the larger the speaker and the higher the SPL needed.

Our product line offers a flexible mix-and-match approach, defined by the listening distance, whether using Passive or Active designs, Point Source or Line Source speakers.

The Line Source Series consist of the medium sized Vega Speaker, delivering reference level up to 8m. And the series extends to the stackable Singularity Line Source speaker, reaching reference level up to 11 m without horizontal beaming, and nearly 20 m when beaming is introduced, when fully stacked.

Our subwoofers are likewise designed for stacking, ensuring they meet the extreme performance requirements set by our speakers. Keep in mind that the reference level for subwoofers is 10 dB higher than for speakers (115 dB), placing significant demands on subwoofer performance.

An Akkurat Audio System is named by the combination of its main speakers (LCR), main subwoofers, and the total number of units in the setup. For example, a pair of Vega speakers with a pair of Citadel Subwoofers is named a Vega Citadel 2.2 system.

The Line Source Series offers the absolute maximum clarity and SPL as well as a broad frequency response for the absolute best music and surround sound experiences.

The Line Source Series are using multiple top of the line Transducers and Tweeters in a line array. This ensures minimum reflection in the floor and ceiling while delivering the best audio experience Akkurat Audio has to offer. It also delivers over greater distances compared to the Point Source Series.

So it seamlessly pairs with all Akkurat Audio speaker series. Which furthermore ensures scalability, allowing for easy upgrades or reallocation of speakers within the system.

Ensuring High Performance and Headroom Across Series:

We developed the Line Source Series to deliver the highest sound quality and SPL achievable without waveguides. To provide flexibility, we offer two variants:

• Vega, a best-in-class 150 cm sleek Line Source speaker, combining exceptional performance and value.
• Singularity-3, a stackable Line Source module for larger LCR stacks or smaller Wide and Surround channels. Without requiring the flagship model for every position.

This is what we call Akkurat What You Need: maximum flexibility and the best performance-per-buck approach.

Models are based on the distance to the Main Listening Position (MLP). The ‘Reference’ tag denotes speakers engineered for reference-level performance (85 dB + 20 dB headroom, 115 dB LFE, 20 Hz–20 kHz ±2–3 dB) at distances above 8 meters.

To match the efficiency of Line Source speakers, multiple subwoofers are needed. Larger setups, such as a Singularity-9 Citadel 2.4, require significant processing power, additional amplification channels, and more than four subwoofers for cinematic-level performance.

Easy Integration into Wall Installations:

The Line Source Speakers have a shallow cabinet depth (from 16,6 cm up to 20 cm excl. speaker terminals).

Which ensures an easy integration into wall-mounted setups (incl. toe-in preparation by request) without taking up huge amounts of depth in your living spaces. Furthermore we only offer sealed speaker cabinets for optimal room installation and frequency response.

Colours and Visual materiels:

All speakers from Akkurat Audio resemble the ugly duckling. We design our speakers to have an anonymous look by using toned down colours and visual materials. As our speakers are meant to be experienced, not seen.

To achieve this, we apply a coat of one layer primer followed by two layers of matte black both using water-based paint. This process not only ensures slight waterproofing but also creates a discreet surface color, making the speaker virtually invisible behind acoustic fabric. Furthermore, this approach helps lower the price for the customer.

The most detailed highs on the market

Our Akkurat Audio Speaker are equiped with the high performing and highly detailed AMTs from based on Mundorfs top of the line Concert Series. Ranging from the mid of the concert series with a sensitivity of 90db and all the way up to the absolute top with the incredible 100db sensitivity tweeter measured at 2,83v.

We argue that it’s very difficult to find a better performing tweeter in this price range.

We prioritize sustainability by producing our products locally and only manufacturing them when ordered:

All Akkurat Audio speakers are locally assempled, at our location in Denmark using local production partners. Our manufactoring process uses minimal shipping of components from outside Northern Europe, focused on reducing the use of non-sustainable materials.

A Sound Experience offers a few demonstration setups for audition. While all other speakers are produced only when ordered (built to order).
