Named after the distance from Earth:

Akkurat Audio model naming follows a space travel logic. The closer to Earth, the smaller the speaker and the lower its maximum SPL required to reach reference level. Conversely, the further from Earth, the larger the speaker and the higher the SPL needed.

Our product line offers a flexible mix-and-match approach, defined by the listening distance whether using Passive or Active designs, Point Source or Line Source speakers.

Our subwoofers is designed for stacking. This ensures they meet the extreme performance demands set by our speakers. Keep in mind that subwoofer reference level is 10 dB higher than for speakers (115 dB). This highlights the exceptional power and precision required.

The subwoofer lineup spans from the compact Outpost Subwoofer. It delivers reference level on its own at 1 m, or 2 m with a partnering Outpost Subwoofer. At the other end is the massive Citadel Subwoofer. It reaches reference level at 5 m alone, or 6 m with a partnering Citadel Subwoofer. For more headroom you simply add another pair or two or choose a higher tier Subwoofer.

An Akkurat Audio System is named by the combination of its main speakers (LCR), main subwoofers, and the total number of units in the setup. For example, a pair of Luna speakers with a pair of Station subwoofers is named a Luna Station 2.2 system.

As all of our speakers the Akkurat Audio Subwoofers offers maximum clarity and sound pressure level (SPL) for their size. The Subwoofers are using top of the line components such as for the internal wiring. Where we are using the highest quality, high gauge solid core cobber. Likewise the Top-Tier speaker terminals and damping materials is from Mundorf. Lastly, we feature the highly acclaimed Extended Bass Transducers from Purifi-Audio.

Consistent Tonality Across Series:

By choosing only top of the line and cohesive components from our partners. We ensure that Akkurat Audio Subwoofers have a matching and unified tonal profile. So it seamlessly pairs with all Akkurat Audio Speaker Series. Which furthermore ensures scalability, allowing for easy upgrades or reallocation of speakers within the system.

Thereby supporting your long-term journey as a customer. You can evolve from an orchestral setup to a full cinematic setup by combining speakers across the Point Source & Line Sources Series and thereby repurposing existing speakers.

Ensuring High Performance and Headroom Across Series:

The Akkurat Audio Subwoofers are the trumph card in our speaker line up. Akkurat Audio speakers get their enhanced headroom from the these. The speaker models are developed in tiers, based on the distance from the speaker to the MLP (Main Listening Position).

The reference tag refers to a speaker model specifically designed to deliver reference-level performance (85dB + 20dB Headroom, 115dB LFE, 20Hz – 20kHz ±2-3dB) at certain distances, starting at 1 meter for Subwoofers.

A minimum of two Akkurat Audio Subwoofers is required in any Akkurat Audio System. For more power, simply add more pairs of Subwoofers before upgrading to a higher-tier model. Each Subwoofer can a large number of extra subwoofers on top of them, when secured to the wall.

High Sensitivity, Lower Power Requirements:

Our Subwoofers use high sensitivity transducers with Purifi-Audio USHINDI technology, the benefits is:

This results in two key benefits. First, it lowers the minimum power required to drive our subwoofers, allowing customers to use high-quality power amplifiers from our partners or equivalent. Second, it enables the subwoofers to play effortlessly at higher levels while providing ample headroom for customized pre-equalization (PEQs).

Easy Integration into Wall Installations:

Akkurat Audio Subwoofers have a shallow cabinet depth (30 cm incl. speaker terminals for passive models without passive radiators).

Which ensures an easy integration into wall-mounted setups without taking up huge amounts of depth in your living spaces. Furthermore we only offer sealed speaker cabinets for optimal room installation and frequency response.

Colours and Visual materiels:

All Subwoofers resemble the ugly duckling. We design our speakers to have an anonymous look by using toned down colours and visual materials. As our speakers are meant to be experienced, not seen.

To achieve this, we apply a coat of one layer primer followed by two layers of matte black (water based). This process not only ensures slight waterproofing but also creates a discreet surface color, making the speaker virtually invisible behind acoustic fabric. Furthermore, this approach helps lower the price for the customer.

Deep Low-End Support:

Akkurat Audio Subwoofers support waveforms down to 20Hz and offers added headroom to all Akkurat Audio speakers. Our Subwoofers are developed with Trinnov’s Propertiary Waveforming Technology and Dirac ART in mind. With the potential for future infra subwoofers in the product range.

We prioritize sustainability by producing our products locally and only manufacturing them when ordered:

All Akkurat Audio speakers are locally assempled, at our location in Denmark using local production partners. Our manufactoring process uses minimal shipping of components from outside Northern Europe, focused on reducing the use of non-sustainable materials.

A Sound Experience offers a few demonstration setups for audition. While all other speakers are produced only when ordered (built to order).
